Drakakis Architecture LLC was founded in December 2009.  Prior to establishing the architectural practice, Desirée previously worked at Muse Architects, Weinstein & Associates, and Dills Ainscough Duff.  Kosta previously worked at Shalom Baranes Associates, Hartman-Cox Architects, and Zaras & Neudorfer Architects.  Residential, commercial, and institutional projects have enriched the teams' experience in contextual additions, renovation, and new construction ranging from historic to modern architecture styles.  This diverse background has enabled Drakakis Architecture to approach each project from a fresh perspective depending on client objectives, site specifics and the project's presence in the community.

Desirée's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (‘93) from the              University of Virginia, Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland at College Park (‘96), and study abroad with the University of Virginia's Vicenza Italy Program.

Kosta's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland at College Park (‘92), Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland at College Park (‘95), and study abroad with the University of Maryland in Rome, Italy. Kosta also has a passion for artisan food products, particularly with his side companies, Ancient Foods and Oatzarella, as well as working with product design and branding.

Sophia has been with the Firm since the beginning prior to working many years with an engineering firm in Dupont Circle, Washington DC.
